We are looking for Chico-area artists to add illustration, style, and a changing point of view to this site.
More than just a job board
Better Chico exists to make it easier to live, work, and take part here. We want the site’s visual character to be part of that work—not a layer added from somewhere else.
The goal: Collaborate with artists on a rotating basis, making space for distinct local art as the site grows. The hope is simple: local art can make a useful public tool feel more generous, more human, and more Chico.
No free labor.
Our first collaborations will be paid projects.
Over time, we hope to build toward a royalty model, where artists recieve a portion from every paid job posting. That is a future goal that will need designing, not a current compensation promise—but it reflects the kind of local exchange we want to support.
